1.    I've been married more than 11 months now.  We’re going on a little anniversary trip in july and driving a convertible down the florida keys.
2.    I decided to bow out of the new Deepthought Design and move toward furniture design.  I’ll be selling it online and probably selling it wholesale to small shops.  I’m excited to point my boat in a direction other than web design – it’s always been sort of a “lawn to mow” for me.
3.    Vifl Float 07 is next week and I’m really looking forward to it.
4.    I’ve been having really weird dreams.
5.    I’m looking forward to not sitting in front of a computer all day.

rachel started a different job wednesday.  now we have to figure out health insurance on our own for an undetermined amount of time.  not fun.

Furniture

I set up some scenes with my furniture and took some shots for this promotional spread. 

This website has most of my industrial design projects on it....just temporarily while I make an all encompasing site for myself.

Rachel and I opened our presents on the 23rd - she had to work on Christmas Eve and the gifts were too large to pack up for the journey home.  I got a sweet electric train set...it smokes and makes all sorts of noises...it's mainly to have around our tree every Christmas

We stayed with Laura, Heath, and Lucy.
They have an extra bed in their basement...we stayed there...it was a bit cold, but we had lots of blankets and a space heater.  It was lots of fun being able to spend extra time with Lucy....because she's awesome.

Christmas was very different this year (being married 'n all) because we had to keep running back and forth between families...here is a picture from Babo's dinner...which was our 12th meal.

We met the Vedenhaupt family at Chevy's for dinner while they were in town.  We had no idea we'd be crashing at their house in Chicago in 2 days....was fun to meet 2 month old Roen.  That boy's got some cheeks.

Ice Skating
Lena, Ben, Lily, Jacob, Sally, Rachel and I went skating in Forest Park - it was fun.  Sally and Jacob hadn't been in a long time or ever....and that was entertaining.  A good time was had by all (to my knowledge).....I had a great time.

My family started a tradition of going to this 1940's lodge in Illinois.  We went there over Christmas break when we were growing up and we started going again last year.

Trip to Chicago to look at a car
Rachel's Jetta died, and I'd been looking for a replacement for about a month...this car looked promising. (I was looking for a specific engine).  We ended up driving up there and sleeping on the Vedenhaupt's pull-out couch and buying it the next day then driving it home.  This is one of the pictures from the craigslist listing.  It's an '01 VW Golf.
